I protest a posthumous collab between unaffiliated artists", and clarified that he did not wish to attack XXXTentacion and that his comments were, "how I interpreted what Peep told me as a friend."[139] [140] When the posthumous 2018 single, "Falling Downwardly", uniting the two deceased rappers was created without Lil Peep's consent, some Lil Peep fans and some of Lil Peep's friends opposed the retroactive inclusion of XXXTentacion. Some surviving band members posted a story onto Instagram disavowing the collaboration and imploring others not to mind to it.[59] Following his death, Mic bemoaned: "Sadly, Peep had barely just begun bringing emo into the futurity with a message that many of his less adult female-friendly influences, like Make New, accept failed to put forward." He connected saying, "For a 'crybaby' who left this world and so young, Peep inspired a lot of people to keep going."[137] The 24-hour interval after hearing news of his death, rapper Lil B paid tribute through a tweet. That's my aqueduct for letting all that shit out."[145] He claims the frankness with which he spoke almost difficulties in his life led to an intense connectedness with his fans through his music. In an interview with The Times, Lil Peep stated, "They tell me that it saved their lives. They say that I stopped them from committing suicide, which is a beautiful thing. ... It'south great for me to hear. It helps. Information technology boosts me, because music saved my life likewise."[152]

Lil Peep was not medicated for depression. While those effectually him insisted, he did not desire to, and opted to just smoke marijuana and whatever other drug came his way.[145] In his final interview before his death with Zane Lowe, Peep confessed that his depression was getting worse saying "Things just get worse. Things already get worse and worse and worse every day."[153] Lil Peep regularly referenced addictions to cocaine, ecstasy and Xanax in his lyrics and posts on social media,[154] where he described himself every bit a "productive junkie" and advised his audition to avoid drug use.[155]
